VLSI Wireless system design Openings in Bangalore at Mindtree

Role description :

This role involves the design, development, verification for wireless communication systems like Bluetooth, 802.15.4 etc. for latest versions of the specification like version 5.x In this role, one will not only get to design, implement and test but will also have the opportunity to charter the future of Short Range Wireless standards as part of the standardization process. Desired Candidate profile: B.E in ECE with industrial experience of 7+ years Or M.E in VLSI/Signal processing/Electronics with minimum 5years of industrial experience

Mandatory skills :

  1. Experience in micro-architecture/logic design of complex blocks and subsystems.

  2. Good hands on experience in Verilog/VHDL design

  3. Expertise in ASIC or FPGA design flows.

  4. Expertise in working with simulators(VCS, NCSIM, Modelsim etc.) functional and code coverage tools, lint/CDC analysis, synthesis, stating timing analysis

  5. Should have experience in core development of MAC (Medium Access Control) for protocols like Ethernet or USB or Bluetooth or 802.15.4 or the likes.

  6. Experience in working with system level simulation and Verilog based verification environment.

  7. Experience in any scripting language like Perl or Python

  8. Exposure to systems with firmware and hardware is required.

  9. Experience in working on FPGA boards (like Xilinx, Altera etc.)

  10. Must be self-starter who can work independently or in team environments, must be a team player, with the ability to work well with other cross-functional teams 

  11. Strong problem solving skills and debugging skills is required.

  12. Excellent communication skills including verbal and interpersonal skills, professional attitude and desire to succeed is required

  13. Use of lab equipment like LA and Oscilloscope.

  14. Must have had prior experience in customer interaction.

  15. Experience in managing a cross-functional team of Design Verification and Validation engineers

  16. Must have experience of coordinating with different teams.

  17. Ramp up quickly on new technology and processes.

Below mentioned skills are not mandatory. However, candidates with below mentioned experience will be given preference.

  1. Having worked on 2.4GHz systems like WLAN, Bluetooth.

  2. Exposure to Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or 802.15.4 is a big plus.

  3. Exposure to fixed point implementation.

  4. Exposure to SoC level design.

  5. Knowledge in C

  6. Background in signal processing

  7. Low power concepts

  8. Exposure to Intellectual Property development, specifically having translated a specification to implementation.

Other details

  1. System architecture definition and realization of Bluetooth and 802.15.4 Wireless IP Blocks. This involves starting with industry standard specifications and defining sub-systems (e.g. State-Machines for protocol management, packet creation, encryption, Clocking, Power Management, interfacing to 3rd party RF Blocks and ARM cores, etc.)

  2. Create specifications for sub-systems on chip and manage a team of engineers in development, testing and integration of various sub-systems into the IP architecture 

  3. Ownership on a complete Verilog IP system targeting ASIC, with tight frequency, area and power requirements.

  4. Understand existing IP design and  Bluetooth\15.4 specifications

  5. Support customers with integration of IP into customer ASIC design projects, in such areas as power optimization, clocking and reset logic, memory interfaces, RF interface and system buses.
